Derivative of Manu-Alaya:
Manali is a valley nestled in the mountains of the Himachal Pradesh; near the northern end of the Kullu Valley; located at an altitude of 2,050 m (6,726 ft) in the Beas River Valley. The name Manali is regarded as the derivative of ‘Manu-Alaya’ which means ‘the abode of Manu’. Manali holds lots of history itself beyond the Himalayan history. It is the first place where British introduce Apple Tree “Patlikuhl”. After this it is named at “APPLE VALLEY” of India.
Manali is a small town in the Kullu District; which is also considered as the most beautiful places for adventure sports.
In both side of Beas River; Green Poplar, Deodar, Willow and Robinia Trees covers tiny wooden home; which looks stunning and charismatic. It gives the feeling that you are in womb of Himalaya; surrounded by mental peace and happiness. The flowing of crystal clear waters is just mind-blowing. It is situated near the northern end of the Kullu Valley. The town is located at a height of 6,398 ft. The town is at a distance of 250 kilometres from Shimla; the capital of Himachal Pradesh.

There is no specific weather forecast due to mighty tall Himalayans. Predictions and forecast doesn’t work for this place. In summer season, you will get a maximum 25 degree; especially in May-June. Whether from December-march it varies from -10 to 5-degree Celsius. Usually, snowfall starts in the month of January; the culmination of winter is in January and February.
Always carry extra woollen cloths to cover yourself; if you are planning in December- Feb.
Best Time To Visit Manali:
Best time to visit Manali can be any month; except rainy season,i.e., from July to September. You can get stuck in Landslides form 10-15 days. Indians should visit in summer season to relax themselves from humidity. Otherwise, the best time to visit is December to February; where you will find snow; the thing for which you are planning this trip. Try to Attain International Carnival in the month of December, last week; where all the people of Himachal Pradesh and around the world participate in this festival.

You can also have a beautiful and stunning road trip Via Car/Bike, Self/Taxi to Visit Manali- In the Lap of Himalaya.

We stayed in Apple Tree Hotel and our complete trip cost us Approx. 28000 INR for two people including fare from Delhi-Manali-Delhi including Food. You can also find less price hotel/guest house from INR 600-1000 for budgeted hotel or you can also try online where the price goes up 10000 INR. You can also try some good places to stay near to Hadimba Devi temple in less than 500 INR, but it’s quite time taking.

Manali has a wide variety of food, I would say the best healthiest food you can have in your entire life. Especially I want to start from Sweet Shahi Tukda (Kind of Malpua in Hindi) it is amazing which we had in our hotel also Fresh Apple juice and dry fruits for breakfast. You can also try Street Food in Mall road (Lifeline of Manali). And yeah!!! that Crispy Milk I would say the best. Kasol Village is known as a mini Israel of India, where youths visit once in their life and try some local Hakka. I would say (Cannabis). It is illegal in India but you will get the quality one. KASOL is the centre of attraction for many youths.

- Rohtang Pass: This is the uppermost point on the road to Manali-Keylong. It is at a height of 4112m. It is located at a distance of 51 kilometres from Manali town.
- Arjun Gufa: It is also known as the cave of Arjuna and is believed that Arjuna lived here ages ago and had worshipped Lord Indra. It is at a distance of 5 kilometres from Manali town.
- Jagatsukh Temple: This is one of the largest villages in the district and is 6 kilometres from Manali.
- Kothi: This is another village located 12 kilometres away from Manali town. It is on the Key-long Road on the Rohtang Pass.
- Old Manali: This old town is just a distance of 3 kilometres from the new Manali town.

- Rohtang Track: At 13000 ft of height, one of the highest mountain Pass or I would say deadliest Pass; because of its weather and location in the Himalayas. After 40 km ride from Manali to Rohtang Valley; it needs Permit from Local Govt. body. Its name is enough to describe Rohtang; it means, Pile of Dead Body.
- Bhrighu Track: On the way to upside the lake itself stunning and mesmerizing due to its frizzy weather.
- Parvati Valley: Parvati Valley is one of the most beautiful places where you should try local Tea in the middle of the valley; located 70 km from Manali.
- Kullu and Naggar City:
This small city is best for Shopping, Paragliding and River Rafting. You can enjoy water sports as well as adventurous rides. Also, you must visit Aghora Rabbit Farm and corporate woollen stores run by women of Kullu/Manali; where you will find handmade cloth blanket and shall for your home.
