5 Days of Heaven on Earth in Jaisalmer by Pankaj Patidar
One day, I was thinking to express my feeling and write something which I can erase. I wanted to find a natural place where I can write my own glory and victory. Then my mind provoked me in an eager and pointed me towards Desert. Since the desert is a natural extension of the inner silence of the body. The immense desert is empty as a bird’s wing which inspires him with promise. This is my story, experience and heavenly exposure of life in context of “5 Days of Heaven on Earth in Jaisalmer by Pankaj Patidar“.
The Golden city and the ocean of Desert called “THAR DESERT” lies in Jaisalmer. It is also known as the ‘Golden City’ because of its sand. The Thar Desert in Jaisalmer plays a significant role in tourism. Travellers not only get to the Great Indian Desert but also experience desert camping, camel safari, dune-bashing and desert life!
Itinerary in Jaisalmer:

It is a 5 days trip when I start the beautiful journey of Jaisalmer from Udaipur along with my Companion:
Untold Story of Jaisalmer, Day-1:
It is 7 AM in the morning with full of excitement. I along with my riding companion; leave for Jaisalmer. We decide to ride over Royal Enfield via Udaipur-Mt. Abu NH-27; where we take first stop in Pindwara for 15 minutes and have refreshment drinks. Then we leave for our next stop Sirohi, a small district which is 130 km away. We are riding at the average wind speed of 80-90 mph. I am very excited to cover as much distance as I can cover; so that we can reach Jaisalmer till the evening. This is my story, experience and heavenly exposure of life in context of “5 Days of Heaven on Earth in Jaisalmer by Pankaj Patidar“.
Bad Day:
After covering 250 km, we have an issue with bike. Noise cylinder of bike breaks down due to which it takes us 3 hour to reach nearby mechanics. Due to this accident, we still covered only 290km; reached a small town Balotra around 6:30 PM in the evening. Suddenly rain starts drizzling in the winter and it was a pathetic situation. We are in the middle of the road and not finding any place to stop for shelter. But anyhow after driving 1-2 km; we stop in a temple in low visibility and yes I must say God is with us; have dinner and also able to find a nice room to stay in night, in just 100 Rupees. We plan to stop here only and decided to leave for Jaisalmer in early morning. All experiences till time is giving us reasons to visit Jaisalmer.

I want to add one important thing; in Balotra you will find Lord Vishnu’s Temple; where you can stay for the night and also eat food provided by the temple’s trust.
Untold Story of Jaisalmer, Day-2:
On day 1, we had to stop due to drizzling rain and bike issue in the golden city. Now, we are ready for the next challenging day. We have to cover 200 km more with our Riding Beast, Royal Enfield. After having breakfast in the same temple, we leave for Jaisalmer via Barmer; because the road is quite smooth and clear. And we reach Barmer around 11 AM and take a rest after having lunch. From Balotra to Jaisalmer routes are clear, less traffic with no patches. Also, you can ride your bike or drive a car at the speed of 100-120kmph speed with full safety.
Feeling, when we reach Jaisalmer:
Finally, We reach Jaisalmer around 4 PM. WOOOOOW!!!!! We are at our desired destination; super exciting view of Golden Fort. The city’s OVERLOOK is mesmerizing everywhere. Our exciting eyes can see Havelis and the houses made up of stones, traditional folk dancer and living style of people of Jaisalmer with their traditional dresses. It is an absolute and allover new experience for us. Because we never saw such simple, innocent people associated with such tradition.
We rent for a room in a guest house for just 600 Rupees and take refreshment. And that we go to golden temple in the night and guess what, the whole city is sunshiny with yellow light which is making no difference in day or night. This is my story, experience and heavenly exposure of life in context of “5 Days of Heaven on Earth in Jaisalmer by Pankaj Patidar“.
Untold Story of Jaisalmer, Day-3:
In the early morning, we start visiting Haveli; where we find found “Patwon-Ki- Haveli”.

The whole architecture is amazingly designed; that it is unimaginable and nobody can even think to build in their dreams. After seeing these architectures, it can be easily speculated that the engineers and artist was really great and just flawless in the ancient era.
We capture a lot of memories in our DSLR and purchase some ethnic dress for our family. After spending 2 hours, we leave for Gadisar Lake. This is the boon for Jaisalmer, because it is a dry and hot place. The existence of any Lake or river is rarest of rare; if any lake exists, then it;s life can not be longer. But this beautiful lake exists in Jaisalmer like a blessing. We take the boat ride in a tiny lake.
After enjoying 2 hours in Lake our next place is to reach Bada Bagh; a beautiful work done by artists; where you will find Chabutras and next we visited Salim-Singh’s Haveli; one of the rare haveli in Rajasthan. It is believed by the people of Jaisalmer that Salim Singh was the Prime minister of Jaisalmer in the 19th century.

In the evening we visit Golden Temple again at the time of sun-set. and it is the most beautiful evening in my entire life. Because I can see the colour of the city is changing in the clour of Gold. And this is the reason why Jaisalmer Fort is known as Golden Fort. We stay in Fort till night and have dinner in the palace. You can see the whole city by sitting on the rooftop.

Untold Story of Jaisalmer, Day-4:
Now its time to visit nearby places of Jaisalmer and we plan to visit Indo-Pak Border. Tanot Temple is also located at just 120km far from Jaisalmer city. We leave the city at 6 AM in the morning and reach Ramghar; a small town where we have breakfast. After taking a ride for 40 minutes, we reach Tanot Mata Temple; one of the most famous temples of India. Holy Tanot Mata temple has a wide history which I will explain in my next blog.

After visiting Tanot; we leave for Longewala Border Museum; which is 1-hour journey. The best part is we find only 4-5 vehicle during this duration of Journey, and that is only military vehicle. We are thinking and making jokes with each other by saying; we are the first civilian who is going to visit this place. First time in life; I am the eyes witness of Indo-Pak Border. We talk with so many army personnel, have food with the respected Army. They are so kind and generous; they are serving local dishes to us as a family.
We say hearty Thank You to the Indian army for their hospitality and kind gesture. We also watch war story in the museum and capture pictures of arms and read about tanks with so many RPG launchers; which was used in 1971 war; also about Pakistani Tanks. We leave Longewala in the late evening around 7 PM and reach Ramghar to spent night over there. This is my story, experience and heavenly exposure of life in context of “5 Days of Heaven on Earth in Jaisalmer by Pankaj Patidar“.

Untold Story of Jaisalmer, Day-5:

After having breakfast the next morning, we decide to visit the most thrilling, exciting and mysterious destination; KULDHARA, World’s most haunted village. Now, it is declared as the archaeological site by the Indian government; and open only from 6 AM To 6 PM. No one is allowed to enter that village due to PARANORMAL ACTIVITIES. So many stories have been written on KULDHARA; but it is still a mystery. The villagers left this beautiful village in a single night; because of paranormal activities and presence of Ghosts.
One of the main reasons to Visit Jaisalmer, Sam Dune Desert:
After spending 2 hours, we leave for Sam Dune Desert; our best to-do list is now going to fulfil. After driving 20 minutes; we reach Sam Thar Desert. Both the sides of the road are covered with the sand; the movement of camels and tents can be seen. It is like the “Ocean Full of Sand”. Many local riders come for safari ride in Thar Desert. One of the main reasons to visit Jaisalmer.

Since we are visiting for the first time; India’s largest desert; so we don’t want to miss even a single thing. We park our bike and run towards the Thar sand to touch, feel, experience and collect memory forever. It is amazing and complete feeling of happiness. I am not able to walk, as my feet are embedded in the desert. I take 10 minutes to reach the small sand hill. The experience is just heart touching and pleasant. We also take a balloon ride in Sam Dune. Feeling was magical to fly 300 ft above to the ground. I am super excited and without controlling my feeling; I start capturing these memories in my DSLR Camera. It takes non-stop 4 hours adventure to cover 4 amazing an most awaited ride. Finally its time to sunset, stunning in the dunes. This place can be anyone’s main reasons to visit Jaisalmer.
When we get Indulged With the Traditional Culture:
After sunset we return to our Camp and take rest for 1 hour. We prefer local food; have Sheep Meat and chapati in dinner. At 8’o clock; Now it’s time for Jaisalmer to spread its beauty. The local traditional folk music and dance starts. It is lovely; just peaceful and beautiful; what a culture of Rajasthan; the Folk music, Sarangi and Dhols is just sweet and stunning. It costs us Rs.1500 per person; including food and 1-night stay. You should try once in life; this is just a lifetime experience.
Now its time to say goodbye to this beautiful place by keeping the stone on the heart with the filled eyes. Here our trip ends and next morning we leave for the Blue City…. This is my story, experience and heavenly exposure of life in context of “5 Days of Heaven on Earth in Jaisalmer by Pankaj Patidar“
Closing Keynote:
I saw the whole world in the desert and discovered that the world is too small. In fact, I thought that I was travelling alone, but found some lovely people from all over the world including England, Sweden, Denmark, Korea, Italy, France, and Indians as well, of course.

I realized that life is very beautiful, but we don’t want to live in other dimensions. We always try to mix up the things by being judgemental that work for a company or any government body is our whole life. We should come out of the workplace and visit nature once. It will give you another kind of wordless captivating experience which you can only feel form your inner mind and soul. Trust me! The world which lies in the lap of nature is very beautiful. The only thing, we need to do is; discover it, explore it, and feel it. This is my story, experience and heavenly exposure of life in context of “5 Days of Heaven on Earth in Jaisalmer by Pankaj Patidar“.
